Welcome to the PLF registry. Perhaps you are wondering what a Petite LeFleur is. It started as an accidental cross of a show quality toy poodle to a show quality Pomeranian in 1998 and has continued from there. This unique little breed is sure to win you over with their charming personalities and unique looks. We have been working diligently on them as a true breed since the first cross. They were never meant to be a "designer breed" and we strongly discourage crossing into the foundation breeds unless improvements must be made.
We have created this registry as a way to incorporate other breeders into the development of such a beautiful breed. We realize that without a lot of participation in the breeding program it is possible for this breeding program to die out and our wonderful little breed will then be lost. With other breeders involved it will be possible to have a larger, stronger, more diversified gene pool. We do not, however, want this to become a designer breed that others will want to make commercially available. We have given our heart and soul to this breed program and want it to remain respectable and retain its integrity. Developing this breed has truly been a labor of love for us.
We would love to hear suggestions from other breeders so please email us and tell us all about your program. We want this to be a registry in which everyone participates.
MISSION
1. To give the Petite LeFleur breed integrity and respectability.
2. To unite PLF breeders to solve and maintain gene pool diversity.
3. To improve the breed and breeding programs by registering breeding stock.
4. To maintain the health of the breed by encouraging breeder participation.
GOALS
1. To help breeders develop their breeding programs
2. To eventually develop conformation and performance shows.
3. To introduce our wonderful breed to the public.
4. To work towards registration in all breed registries.
5. To make sure our breed does not fall into the hands of commercial breeders, brokers, or pet shops.
There is also a forum attached to this registry and would like to discuss all aspects of the breed and the breeding programs. It will discuss health, genetics, breeding problems, etc. It will also give the breeders a chance to show case their breeding programs and the dogs involved in it. We want this to be a registry in which all breeders have a say and actively participate in the formation of this breed. Anyone who has ever owned a PLF knows what wonderful little dogs they are and we would like the world to know about them.
Thank you for your interest in this special breed.
